The Sentinel-1 mission is a constellation of C-band Synthetic Aperature Radar (SAR) satellites from the European Space Agency launched since 2014. These satellites collect observations of radar backscatter intensity day or night, regardless of the weather conditions, making them enormously valuable for environmental monitoring. These radar data have been processed from original Ground Range Detected (GRD) scenes into a Radiometrically Terrain Corrected, tiled product suitable for analysis. This product is available over the Contiguous United States (CONUS) since 2017 when Sentinel-1 data became globally available. Read more

Biomass CCI AGB 2017
Dec-2019

This dataset comprises estimates of forest above-ground biomass for the year 2017. The data has been produced as part of the European Space Agency's (ESA's) Climate Change Initiative (CCI) programme by the Biomass CCI team. The data was derived from input data from the PALSAR-2 instrument on the ALOS-2 satellite, and data from the Sentinel-1 satellite. The ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 dataset was obtained from the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in the form of a mosaic of images acquired in 2017. The Sentinel-1 dataset consisted of individual data takes by the 1A and 1B units during 2017 and provided by the European Space Agency. Read more

GFOI Coverage Reports
Jul-2017
The CEOS Space Data Coordination group (SDCG) coordinates space satellite data for CEOS initiatives, such as the Global Forest Observation Initiative (GFOI). In support of the SDCG, the CEOS Systems Engineering Office (SEO) produces historical coverage analyses utilizing the data archives for the Landsat, Sentinel-1, and Sentinel-2 missions. Currently, the SEO produces an individual report for more than 70 GFOI countries (listed below alphabetically). Read more
