EPS-Aeolus Mission

Objectives and Applications

Aeolus-2 will provide global wind profile measurements for Numerical Weather Prediction using backscattered UV laser light to measure Doppler shifts. It will also provide atmospheric aerosol profiles. In addition, Radio Occultation profiles will be obtained to determine atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles using Galileo, GPS and Beidou. LST is 18:00 (on an Ascending Node) ad at 06:00 (for a dawn-dusk orbit)
