SXI Instrument

Measurements and Applications

ESA SMILE SXI (Soft X-ray Imager) Images of magnetosheath, magnetopause and cusps. Energy band: approximately 0.2–2.5 keV. Field of view: approximately 15.5° × 26.5°. Detectors: two large X-ray-sensitive CCDs. Optics: micropore lobster-eye opticTargets: magnetopause; bow-shock and magneto sheath structure; northern and southern cusp regions; global boundary displacement and deformation.
