GLIMR Mission

Objectives and Applications

GLIMR will provide observations of rapidly evolving processes of phytoplankton physiology, growth and bloom evolution, and episodic and seasonal river-to-sea fluxes of materials. GLIMR will identify and track blooms of the harmful algae, Karenia brevis, and identify and track oil spills and seeps of sufficient size in the Gulf of Mexico and other selected coastal regions of North and South America.
