FORMOSAT-9B Mission

Objectives and Applications

FORMOSAT-9 mission provides SAR data for applications in the area of environmental monitoring, disaster monitoring, resource management, topographic mapping, and information gathering. In addition, FORMOSAT-9 provides GNSS Radio Occultation (RO), Reflectometry (R) and Precise Orbit Determination (POD) data for extensive research on the sea-air interaction, the measurement of the soil properties and the detection of the icebergs, the prediction of the typhoon’s strength and path, and the Earth's gravitational field, among other topics.
