ORS-1 Mission

Objectives and Applications

As a multispectral imaging satellite, the mission is an important milestone to demonstrate the capability to meet emerging and persistent warfighter needs in operationally relevant timelines. By building systems on smaller satellites using modular components, the ORS (Operationally Responsive Space) program provides the ability to rapidly augment U.S. space systems. ORS can deliver capabilities in a fraction of the time it takes to build larger platforms.
