MicroMAS-1 Mission

Objectives and Applications

MicroMAS is a nanosatellite (3U CubeSat) technology demonstration mission, a joint project of MIT/LL (Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Lincoln Laboratory), MIT/SSL (Space Systems Laboratory) and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. -The nanosatellite is hosting a passive microwave spectrometer with nine channels operating near the 118.75 GHz oxygen absorption line. Recent work has involved the development and testing of ultra-compact radiometer component technologies that would enable the realization of a high-performance, multi-band sounder that would conform to the 1U CubeSat form factor requirements.
