Objectives and Applications Aeneas is a 3U CubeSat nanosatellite, developed at the Space Engineering Research Center (SERC), University of Southern California (USC) in collaboration with student teams. Launched in 2012, Aeneas is the first CubeSat with the capability to track the location of cargo containers on a global scale over the open ocean using a 1 watt WiFi-like transceiver.
