Objectives and Applications
The instrument was flown on Space Shuttles to measure vertical profiles of ozone in the stratosphere and lower mesosphere, using a spectral range of 200 to 405 nm. Its primary goal was to provide calibration data to support and validate long-term satellite-based ozone measurements by flying on numerous Space Shuttles.
